I have had a few Jehovah's Witnesses come to my parents house. They were interested in converting my mom (She's in OCIA.) A few of the things I noticed from my conversation with them is that:
They don't believe Mary is the Immaculate Mother of God. Rather that she was a sinful person like any of us that God used to incarnate his Son.
They're big on Scripture. I would talk about the origin of the Bible and how Catholics formed it. They asked me about my Bible and I freely showed it to them and told them how the Catholic Church approves of our translations, etc.
Another topic was Purgatory. They had never heard of it and asked to research it before they came back to have another conversation with my mom and I.
Part 1
That being said. The BEST form of apologetics/evangelization is your life. Live what you believe and other will naturally gravitate towards you and ask questions. It may be work, public, school, just be open to that.
I'd like to also say that the point of apologetics/evangelization is to bring souls to Christ. It's such a temptation to "dominate" or "win" the debate. There is no winning in a debate, just open your heart about your faith and be honest with your conversation partner. People will walk away more convicted by that than by whatever doctrine you state (though I understand it helps to speak of doctrine and dogma when necessary.)
God bless! I hope this helps a bit. ☺️
When engaging Jehovah's Witnesses, a few key doctrinal areas are particularly fruitful:
The Divinity of Christ: JWs deny that Jesus is God. Scripture is clear: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (John 1:1). They alter this in their New World Translation, but the Greek (kai theos ēn ho logos) supports the traditional rendering. See also Thomas's confession: "My Lord and my God!" (John 20:28), which Jesus accepts without correction. The CCC affirms: "The Word became flesh to make us 'partakers of the divine nature'" (§460).
The Trinity: JWs reject the Trinity as pagan. Yet the baptismal formula Christ Himself gave—"in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 28:19)—places all three Persons in equality. The CCC teaches that the Trinity is "the central mystery of Christian faith and life" (§234).
The Soul and Resurrection: JWs teach soul sleep and annihilation. The Church teaches the soul is immortal (CCC §366) and that Christ descended to the dead, where souls awaited Him (1 Peter 3:19; CCC §632–635).
On the Eucharist and blood: Their prohibition stems from a misreading of Acts 15:29. The Church distinguishes between consuming animal blood (the Old Testament concern) and receiving the Blood of Christ, which is eternal life (John 6:53–56). The Eucharist fulfills and transcends the old law.
Approach with patience and charity—pray for them, and let truth speak gently.
