Posing

Avoid the "tourist pose" at all costs. That's any pose where you look like you're taking a photo. Or your mom forced you to quick snap a pic. It's characterized by facing straight into the camera, shoving your hands in your pockets and fake smiling.

When it comes down to posing your body correctly it comes down to three things:
- Your Torso
- Your Hands
- Your Legs

Your torso should be pointed towards the camera or 20-30degrees away from it.

Your hands can do one of four things:
- "F-boy" Pose
- One In One Out (Pockets)
- Watch/Jewelry Adjustment
- Fit Adjustment

Special Instances:
For the dog photo, get down on one knee so you're on their level. Bring them close and interact with them while smiling. Do not be arms length away, or directly behind them. Facial expressions rules still apply

For seated photos, no crossing your arms or legs. Also make sure your body language is completely open and you're taking up space. Facial expressions rules still apply.

*Photographer takes his position - you take your position. EVERYBODY FREEZE. Click click click click ANNND done. Your photo is complete! Next location.*

***NOT HOW PHOTO SHOOTS WORK***

Here's how it actually works.

Go to the location. Find a spot. You start hitting pose after pose after pose. The photographer will be constantly moving around getting different angles. He will also be giving you instructions to move back and forth and go pose from pose.

Variation is the name of the game. You shouldn't be standing perfectly still.

At each location, your photographer is going to be taking at least 100, maybe 100's of photos. And then in post we can choose the best 2-3 pics at each location.

This way we have the cream of the crop.

So - take direction from your photographer. And never be frozen for too long.

Your face / hands / body posing should all be rotating. Never static for too long.

This can also go for accessories like sunglasses. Take some with and without.

Can also work this way for overcoats and jackets - some with some without.

In post we can pick out the best ones.
