Doctoral Considerations

Good afternoon all!

I'm near the end of my masters journey and am considering a doctoral degree, but I have a few concerns and desires that are making this more difficult.

Due to my work and family requirements, it would have to be an online program. I know that many in academia feel that doctorate degrees earned online aren't "worth the paper," but it's the only option I have. I have also heard or read that many of the online programs are from "diploma mills" that do not reflect well on a CV.

Also, I would greatly enjoy a Catholic college. I've tried looking on the Cardinal Newman list but I cannot seem to find anything that fits what I need.

Finally, I am looking to continue in my current field, Public Administration.

Any advice on what schools to look at, or if this is even worth pursuing would be greatly appreciated.

I have looked at Valdosta State and Old Dominion University so far as options.

Awesome! I think it's still worth to do it even when it's online, you'll still learn the same skills. I don't have any advice on colleges though, hopefully you find something!
