Happy Day of the Lord, brethren.
The readings for today were Acts 8:5-8, 14-17 and 1 Peter 3:15-18.
Gospel
John 14:15-21
In his homily my parish priest included a section about mothers since it is Mother’s Day. As I am sure you are well aware, a mother’s love is used as an analogy to God’s love.
“Truth and love go hand and hand” was a highlight of the homily. People might not like truth because it hurts but it is necessary in the Christian life. Just like rebuke which should be done with love. Just as our parents rebuke us so the Father rebuked us with the end goal of brining us to salvation and edification.
What was your homily about today? Post it beneath this post so others can read it :)
God bless. Ave Christus Rex!

My priest's homily was about preparing for Pentecost as the gospel talked about the Holy Spirit already. He said that while many know the Father and Son, there are very few who know the Holy Spirit and pray to Him. So he encouraged us to ask for the Holy Spirit any time we pray in preparation for Pentecost.
