I'm always wearing 2 rings when I'm not at work. One is my high school class ring, and the second is my Order of the Engineer ring.
I wear my class ring to remember that no matter where I am, what city/country I'm in, who I'm dealing with in corporate meetings, or however high and mighty I feel, that I'm just a guy from a cornfield. A small podunk town that wasn't important at all, the type of town that everybody wanted to leave, (but it seems that most never did). It keeps me humble (surprisingly I can be humble).
My Engineer's ring I wear because I am proud to be an engineer, and it makes for an interesting conversation piece, especially sitting next to other engineers on airplanes. Both rings are silver colored (stainless and an alloy) and not super flashy and fit in nicely with typical outfits.

As a consultant, I should go minimal as possibile but in style.
Yep, an important watch (no Rolex or other brand name) with no ring on the see.
