Anyone planning to do the Camino de Santiago this year or next year?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been thinking seriously about doing the Camino de Santiago either later this year or sometime next year. I’d love to connect with others who are also planning it — especially first-timers.

Which route are you considering and what time of year are you planning to go?

Would be great to hear your plans, experiences, or even connect with fellow pilgrims. 😊

Buen Camino!

Awesome! I want to go at some point as well, but that's not going to happen this or next year yet. If you go, do tell us all about it here!

Ooh…I did it with my family in the fall, but we started in Portugal. I know a priest who just did it as well, but I don’t know what route he took. Portugal is INCREDIBLY cheap. We went to Fatima in addition to the pilgrimage, and there were so many rosaries and things at great prices! We did the pilgrimage to Spain, but then we took a train to France for Lourdes. Seeing St. James’s tomb was crazy! No photos were allowed, and I felt a bit rushed, but it was still really cool! The Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar in Zaragoza, Spain was STUNNING! The Virgin Mary told St. James to build a little chapel for her. It’s anything but little! Interestingly, there’s a local delicacy in Santiago de Compostela that represents the Camino: Tarta de Santiago. My parents and I liked it, but my husband didn’t care for it. I think it’s at least worth a try 🤷🏻‍♀️
