GUYS. WE MET THE POPE THIS WEEK!
WE DID IT!! My husband and I did the Sposi Novelli during this past Wednesday’s Papal Audience. We ended up on the second row, and the pope almost missed me. My husband (shoutout to him!) thankfully got the pope’s attention and handed the rosary I made. The pope and I briefly talked as he looked at the rosary. I meant to explain the meaning of everything, but I didn’t want to take too much time…😅 He even asked what part of FL I was from. IT WAS SO COOL!! If you are getting married, hope to marry someday, or are married within the past 3 months, then definitely consider doing this! It was HOT, but an incredible once in a lifetime opportunity! 🥹🤧🇻🇦

Ahh that's awesome!! Happy for you!
What an incredible privilege, God bless you. Truly a once in a lifetime experience!
What a life-changing experience!
The highlight!
This is so nice. 🤍
Peak Catholicism moment!!! Congratulations 🥂
Do you get seated randomly or based on how late/ early you come?
It’s based on how late/early you arrive. We arrived at like 6 or 6:30, and there was already a small line to get into the Papal Audience. That’s the ideal time though even though it officially starts at 9 or 10am depending on the day. There’s security that you’d have to go through as well.
@rosepetalsofmary Something they told us is that the pope frequently changes things up with how he greets/blesses the newlyweds. Sometimes it’s the entire group, other times it’s just the front row. For us, he greeted the first row, but he also greeted the second row (where we ended up) and whoever else could reach far enough.
@rosepetalsofmary thank you. Planning to make it to this blessing in 2028 haha
@judithrae That’s so exciting!! 🥳 It’s certainly a cool once-in-lifetime opportunity to receive this blessing. 🙏🏼 Order the free tickets months in advance online. Definitely make sure you wear your actual wedding dress and have photos on your phone and your marriage license (photo is okay; just photos are fine if super recent). There was a couple in front of us in line who was turned away because the girl didn’t wear her actual dress. 😬😅 Definitely remember to bring water (plastic bottles only are allowed), fans, umbrella/parasol, sunscreen, etc, because it’ll get hot under the *direct* sun in St. Peter’s Square!
