Heavenly Father, today we commemorate the day of silence and waiting, when Jesus rested in the tomb. With humility we stand by him and carry in our hearts the hope of the victory of life.
Grant us, Lord, patience in moments when everything seems lost. Strengthen our faith, so that even in darkness we may know that your light will come. Help us to persevere in prayer and trust, just like Mary and the disciples who quietly awaited the fulfillment of your promises.
May this holy Saturday teach us to trust in your plan, may it strengthen us in awaiting your salvation, and prepare our hearts for the joy of the resurrection. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
