While doing my Bible study today, I came across Exodus 28:12, where the names of the twelve tribes of Israel are to be engraved on the shoulder stones of Aaron’s vestment.
Father Mike explained something that really touched me.
Just as Aaron carried the names of all of Israel before God, our priests carry us before God too. They represent their parish community, remembering us, praying for us, and bringing us before the Lord.
And at every Mass, when the priest offers the Holy Sacrifice, there is something so intimate about knowing that in some way, I am being carried there too
I had never thought of a priest this way before—as someone who carries my name before God. 🤍
