Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi

Happy feast day, everyone!

Did you know that Saint Francis was originally named Giovanni di Pietro di Bernardone?

What do you know about St Francis of Assisi?

Blessed feast day! I was able to visit Assisi last year and it was really a beautiful experience 🤍

Interesting! Is that where he is laid to rest?

@emmanuella Yes! Visited his tomb and also the Portiuncola, it was amazing. They also have the San Damiano crucifix there, and St. Clare and also St. Carlo Acutis are in Assisi as well. Definitely would recommend it. And it's also a very peaceful and pretty village!

@misericordia Carlo Acutis! I love that guy! Whoa Assisi must be something! To house this much of holy people…

I think St. francis was the one who said: “preach always and sometimes use words.” He’s also the first to bear the stigmata I’ve heard.
@emmanuellaOct 7
That is right. He is the first ever known stigmata.
