It’s really hard to pick a place, but as someone who’s grown up and mostly lived in cities, going on safari in Kruger National park Johannesburg was quite a memorable experience. I was really into wild animals like any kid was, but never saw them in person.
It has to be Scotland! Let me try and find some images to post! 🕊️
I loved Edinburgh and the glenns and highlands
@gabrielstcharles Edinburgh is beautiful and has History & Culture! The Upper Northern Part is amazing, if I recollect the right name it's Inverness I think!
Gotta be Paris. ‘Twas dream-like.
I had to dig hard to think about this one. I spent some time traveling for the purpose of finding places that I could like in this world. Hawaii, Florida, Texas, Oregon, Ontario, Adelaide. I haven't been everywhere but I went where I could. No place has ever brought me joy like the finish line of a major accomplishment. My health journey pulled me from the start line but I will eventually get back to the finish line. This was the finish of Ironman California which was my first Full Ironman. The technical challenges were greater then I had ever experienced in a race but crossing the finishline during the rain was an amazing feeling even if I did experience a little hypothermia afterwards.
Ironman is INSANE
@gabrielstcharles I think one of they key elements to a challenge like this is to exagerate the effort that goes into it. The water was freezing, the asphalt was a mess, my bike had all kinds of problems, other cyclists stuck, my legs felt like jelly, my stomach had problems, it was hot, it was cold, it was windy. Every small annoyance becomes a problem and thus a jewel in the crown of the accomplishment.
While on our honeymoon in Sicily, we stayed at a B and B at the base of mount Etna. We were surrounded by fruit trees that the owners made fresh jam from for breakfast. It was a really beautiful spot. One of my favorites!
This looks BIBLICAL
@gabrielstcharles it really was
I am not able to share, for the first time, I got to see a white tiger up close. What a magnificent creature! I was on the safari bus though.
Where was this?
@gabrielstcharles 🤭 This was in Telangana, India, where the zoo had added an extension to its safari enclosure.
Rome and Assisi without a doubt two magical places
Assisi is lovely one of the most peaceful places on earth. Saw Carlo’s body there too.
@gabrielstcharles it really is, no matter how many people are there, it always seems quiet and there is always a profound sense of peace. Yes I did as well on both occasions I’ve visited, it was a very surreal experience but beautiful.
Rome is pretty cool :)
Japan. It is so ahead of our time.
Dolomites
